TOUCHDOWN: The Puppy Bowl, Our Puppy Program & Pedigree

Who’s that on the 50-yard line? Is it… puppies?

You betcha.

A few of our snuggliest, silliest puppies recently took part in a photo shoot for Pedigree’s Puppy Bowl. Cinnamon, Licorice, Buttercup, BB-8, C3PO and our Gone with the Wind puppies romped and played for the camera, occasionally wandering off the set to be lavished with yummy treats and lots of attention (kind of like real models).

The campaign featuring Agape’s precious pups is focusing on informing people about the health hazards puppies face when living in shelters and rescues, as well as encouraging people to foster puppies from their local shelter or rescue. With a safe and loving foster home, young puppies can have a better chance at finding a forever family and living a healthy life.

And as if seeing our little guys and gals featured in PEDIGREE’S campaign isn’t enough, we’re also proud to announce that we have received a wonderfully generous grant from The PEDIGREE Foundation* to benefit our growing Puppy Program. We’ll be putting the amazing $10,000 grant to work rehabilitating and finding forever families for the many pregnant pooches and homeless puppies of middle Tennessee.

Along with our fundraising partners The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, Best Friends Animal Society, The Enderle Family and My Second Home Pet Resort plus our grant from PEDIGREE, we are closer to our yearly fundraising goal—which means we can do more with our Puppy Program than ever before. “PEDIGREE Foundation’s grant will allow us to continue helping as many homeless pets as possible in 2016, starting with the most susceptible population: puppies.” says Agape Executive Director, Tanya Willis.

The path to re-homing Tennessee’s puppies starts with one of our partners, Nashville Metro Animal Care and Control. They, and many others, help keep our program packed with adorable faces in need of care and love. Next, our awesome team of volunteer foster parents train all our puppies in-home and get them ready for their future forever families. Meanwhile, local veterinarians and pet stores ensure that our pups are well cared for and in great health.

And to see some of our Puppy Program participants big debut, follow us Facebook—and if one of them looks like a winner to you, fill out an adoption or foster application.
