Remington Steele Joins The Big Payback!

It’s true! Remington Steele has joined The Big Payback event to support Agape Animal Rescue! Well okay, we do not mean the mystery man who fought crime with the beautiful Laura Holt. We mean the handsome poodle that is now safe in our foster program.

Remington was abandoned and neglected but NOT left behind. His previous owner discarded him at the shelter with horrible matting, hair loss, dermatitis, and extreme cataract leaving him almost blind, afraid and confused. We knew that he was born to be a legend and while he only has 1 tooth left and is awaiting treatment for his cataract condition, he has learned how to play with toys and embraces the love his foster mom showers him with.

The typical cost of medically and behaviorally getting a dog ready for adoption is $350. Luckily the Agape program also supports dogs that are in need of extraordinary medical care and would have otherwise been euthanized. Remington is “that” dog and his expenses are estimated at $5,000. We humbly ask that you make a donation during The Big Payback to support his care and your donation will be DOUBLED thanks to an anonymous Agape supporter.

So what exactly is The Big Payback? Held by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, it’s a dedicated day of charitable donating aimed to put a philanthropic spin on the “buy local” philosophy. “[It] provides an easy and fun way for communities to show their local pride and give back,” said Ellen Lehman, president of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, in an interview with Murfreesboro Post. “Nonprofits do life-changing work every day across Middle Tennessee, and it’s important we recognize the positive impact they have in our own backyards by supporting their efforts.”

This annual day of online giving is geared to raise funds for the non-profits of middle Tennessee. This year’s May 3rd event is sure to be a success, and Remington Steele is hoping you will accept our matching challenge!
