On average, Agape rescues more than 100 dogs from euthanasia every year. We’re proud of that. But as Tanya Willis, our Executive Director, says, “…that simply isn’t good enough. We always strive to save more lives than we did the previous year.”

In early 2015 Agape teamed up with Best Friends Animal Society, the Enderle Family, and The Community Foundation to create Agape’s Official Puppy Program. In 2016 our friends at the Pedigree Foundation joined the puppy team by making a generous donation to the program as well!

Through this program, we’re dedicated to saving pregnant dogs and orphaned puppies ages 6 months and under. These puppies come to us from Middle Tennessee area and would have otherwise been euthanized.

So what does it take to be a puppy foster family?

Patience and a love for puppy kisses! Our Puppy Program foster parents have been specifically trained in how to properly raise and care for newborns through 6 months of age. This training includes proper environment, week-by-week enrichment, proper feeding, etc.

How can you help?

We are always looking for more foster families to add to this very dedicated and passionate team! If fostering is not for you, you can still help by making a donation today to help the puppies!
