Glitter & Glam 2015 – Huge Success!!

Nashville, Tenn, (September 21, 2015) —Tito’s Vodka was flowing, gowns were sparkling and the auction paddles were raised high, but it was the well-dressed dogs and their human companions on the runway that stole the show at Agape Animal Rescue’s seventh annual Glitter and Glam, hosted by CMT’s Katie Cook.

Hutton Hotel in Nashville was packed with animal lovers from across the country as fashionable dog models put their best paws forward on the red carpet and runway with a little help from local and national celebrities including:

The dogs models, including Agape alums Chai, Higgins, Fable and Finn, were dressed to the nines in luxury suits and dresses designed by internationally-celebrated designer Yvette Ruta, presented by Winston Dog in Green Hills. Ruta, who travelled from Dallas, Texas to support Glitter and Glam, brought along hat designer Susan Howard of Haeley’s Hats to top off her stylish looks.

The human models walked in old Hollywood-inspired formal wear provided by Glitz Nashville in Bellevue and jewels from Platinum Jewelers in Cool Springs.

Agape’s founder and executive director Tanya Willis honored Agape supporters and real estate developers Mark and Cindy Enderle with the organization’s second annual Mack Award in recognition of the couple’s dedication to creating awareness and resources for animal welfare efforts across Tennessee.

Volunteer coordinator Helen Miles was honored with the first-ever Agape Leadership Award for her extraordinary dedication to Agape’s mission of saving dogs’ lives.

“After seeing Helen’s work as lead volunteer at a few events, I asked her if she’d be interested in being our full-time, non-paid volunteer coordinator, and I was ecstatic when she said yes,” said Tanya Willis.

“Volunteers are the lifeblood of Agape, and that program is stronger than ever with Helen’s passion fueling it.”

Miles sat on Glitter and Glam 2015’s event committee, alongside Lori Jungquist and Kristine Kunta and event chairs Kori Jean Olsen, Tanya Willis and Stephanie Willis, and oversaw the 50+ volunteers it took to pull off the wildly successful event.

The live and silent auctions were as fun and competitive as ever, with the 6-foot strand of pearls from Platinum Jewelers, recording package from The Blackbird Academy, Panama City vacation package and the larger-than-life mosaic dog art by Arthur Kirby as crowd favorites this year.

“Along with our co-title sponsor Happy Retales, we’d like to say a special thanks to our human and dog models, host Katie Cook, Glitz Nashville, Platinum Jewelers, Harlow Salon, Yvette Ruta, Winston Dog, Tito’s Vodka, Kendra Scott, My Second Home Pet Resort, Harmony Designs Photography, Lucie Rice Illustrations and Designs and all of our incredible and loyal sponsors,” said Willis.

“And there wouldn’t be an event without our passionate supporters and volunteers, who we are eternally thankful for.”

It is estimated that 85 dogs will be rescued, fostered, vetted and placed in loving homes with the $27,000 raised at Agape Animal Rescue’s seventh annual Glitter and Glam wine tasting and fashion event.
