Back in Black Adoption Campaign 2014

We’re excited to announce that during the month of May we are partnering with Best Friends Animal Sanctuary for their Back in Black Adoption Campaign.

During Back in Black, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary invites rescues and adoption facilities to join together with the goal of showcasing all of the wonderful black pets, which traditionally have more difficulty getting adopted. Sometimes referred to as Black Dog Syndrome, these lovable, but monochrome, pooches often remain in shelters or rescues for four times longer then their lighter counterparts. Black dogs are often more difficult to photograph well and also have historically been negatively portrayed in pop culture as vicious and difficult. Back in Black seeks to counteract these setbacks by supporting rescues and shelters as they put their black pets on display.

At Agape we’re looking forward to participating and showing off all of our beautiful, black dogs. All dogs deserve to find their forever homes, regardless of color, and through the month of May we will put our black dogs in the spotlight in the hopes of helping them find that special family.
