PattonPatton Gets Surgery, Finds A Home

Thanks to all the people who helped fund his medical expenses, Patton got the knee surgery he needed in January ‘08 and we are happy to report he was officially adopted in February!

Patton’s new mom came to meet him at the Murfreesboro Black Tie adoption event, and it was a heavenly match!  Patton will live the “great life” in a home where someone is with him pretty much all of the time.  He has a cat of his own but would much rather be held and loved on by his "people."

Thank you, Gina, for fostering him and handling all of his rehab.  Though you miss him, it is such a joy to know he is happy in his new home.  After all we had been through with this sweet little guy ... and how much he had touched each of our hearts … this is wonderful news, and a wonderful new chapter to Patton’s life.  Take care little one!

Tater Tot Visits UT

Hello, amigos! Muchas gracias for all the support you have given me over the past few weeks. Thanks to your generosity, Agape raised nearly $1,100 to pay for my visit to The University of Tennessee Small Animal Clinic, where on October 16, 2007, I was able to get the CAT scan I needed.

As you may have already seen online, my friends at Agape have been working diligently toward fully understanding my medical issues. My great vet at Animal Care Center in Mt. Juliet, Dr. Hacker, diagnosed my hydrocephalus condition a few months ago, but said to really understand why I have a little extra fluid on my brain, further neurological tests were required. She made the appointment, and two of my friends with Agape drove me there and back. Boy, is that a big place!

I was assigned a medical student, Jessica, and my very own UT vet, Dr. Miles. They were so good to me, and for two whole days ran tests, drew blood, monitored me to make sure I had no seizures, did a spinal tap (note my shaved head in these pictures!), and of course, administered the CAT scan that would tell my doctors why I have hydrocephalus. They even sent me home with a crocheted ball made just for me.

I am mucho happy to report that all my test results were bueno! Dr. Miles says the hydrocephalus is quite mild and very manageable. I may always be a little wobbly, especially when I wake up, but they expect me to live a long and BUENO life! With this good prognosis, my Agape amigosfeel they have a handle on how best to manage my hydrocephalus and, si, believe I am ready to move into a permanent home.

I love each of you for believing in me, and giving me a chance to have a more fulfilled life with a family all my own. Gracias, again, for your kind donations that have allowed me to get those necessary tests at UT. Thanks to you, I am now happily in a loving home, adopted right before Thanksgiving 2007.
