Thank you for your interest in the Agape Animal Rescue internship program. Our mission is to place rescued or displaced dog with forever homes, while educating the public to be responsible pet owners. We appreciate that you want to be a part of this rewarding experience.

Internship Overview

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support to the director and board members where needed.
  • Assisting with marketing and promotion of animals available for adoption, including write-ups, and updating the Agape main website and Petfinder.com site.
  • Assisting with basic marketing projects and event planning including production and mailing of materials and communications with our media partners.
  • Assisting with the dog intake and adoption processes including screening possible dogs for Agape foster parents, and applications for dogs.

Abilities and Experience Required:

  • An interest in animal welfare and wellness.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently without supervision as well as working well with others.
  • Ability to speak, read and write the English Language.
  • Experience dealing with the public and providing customer service, in person, over the phone, and through email.
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn and try new things.
  • Ability to be around dogs.
  • Ability to cope with an emotionally-charged environment.
  • At least 18 years of age.

ChelseaLength of Internship:
Each internship is an unpaid position. We can accommodate 10 to 40 hours per week. The exact schedule can be determined between the intern and the rescue director.
